Veterinary Nursing Student
Trainee Veterinary Nurse
This position requires the student to gain a place on one of the Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (VN) courses at Greenmount College, Antrim or NWRC, Limavady. These courses are designed to prepare students for careers in veterinary nursing. City Vets are an Approved Veterinary Training Practice and all TVNs will be employed in the practice when not at college.

Entry Requirements
​
Normally five GCSE passes at Grade C or above including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject is the minimum requirement. The Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing course is very demanding and should be considered the equivalent of a University degree. This is why City Vets will be expecting applicants for the VN course to have GCSE Grade As and Bs or A-level passes. Experience working with animals is favourable so applicants are encouraged to find regular placements with animal shelters and animal charities. Applicants should be at least 16 years or over.

Due to the limited availability of places on the VN courses, City Vets can not guarantee a VN placement. Students who have completed the VCA/VCS course with City Vets will be treated more favourably during the selection process. It is highly unlikely that City Vets will provide a training place for a student who has not proven themselves while employed or volunteering in one of our practices.
